Job summary

Cura Hospitality in the Pittsburgh area is seeking an experienced registered dietitian to join our healthcare team. You will assess nutritional needs, initiate interventions, and help optimize residents’ nutritional status to improve quality of life.

You will educate patients, staff, and consultants, follow professional standards, and collaborate with other departments to implement nutrition-focused procedures and quality improvements.

Qualifications

• CDR national exam passed or eligible as per Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics requirements.
• Complete 75 hours of continuing education every five years per CDR requirements.
• Licensed or certified per state requirements.
• Knowledge of regulations for comprehensive assessments, care planning, and residents’ rights.
• Ability to teach nutrition and dietetics to others.

Responsibilities

• Provide nutritional expertise to the health care team and educate patients and staff.
• Follow Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics standards of practice and facility regulations.
• Coordinate with other departments to set up nutrition-related procedures and policies.

The Role at a glance:

We are looking to add an experienced registered dietitian to our healthcare team in Pittsburgh. As a registered dietitian, you will have the opportunity to identify and assess the nutritional needs of assigned patients/residents, initiate interventions to achieve and/or maintain individuals nutritional status, and enhance quality of life consistent with patient’s/resident’s goals.

What you'll be doing:

• Providing nutritional expertise to the health care team and educating patients/residents, staff, or consultants.
• Following the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics’ standards of practice and facility regulatory requirements.
• Interacting with other departments in setting up procedures and policies, and in problem solving as it relates to dining service and nutrition.
• Actively participating in the development, review, and revision of continuous quality improvement programs.

What we're looking for:

Must-haves:

• Passed a national examination administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) or meets the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics requirements for eligibility.
• Completes 75 hours of continuing education hours every five years, in accordance with the CDR, utilizing the professional portfolio development process.
• Licensed or certified, per state requirements.
• Knowledge of regulation standards specific to comprehensive assessments, care planning, and residents’ rights.
• Ability to teach others, specifically pertaining to nutrition and dietetics.

Nice-to-haves:

• Bachelor’s degree in nutrition or related field.
• Experience working in healthcare or long-term care.
