Job summary

Access to Healthcare Network in Las Vegas is inviting applications for a Registered Dietitian to promote the nutritional wellbeing of AHN clients through medical nutrition therapy, assessments, and individualized care plans. Work may involve community, clinic, and hospital settings, and a valid driver’s license is required to operate an AHN vehicle.

This role emphasizes documentation, coordination with physicians and community partners, and adherence to HIPAA.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Public Health, or related field.
  • Current RD/RDN in good standing; provisional license accepted.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of professional RD experience preferred.
  • Experience with nutrition counseling, education, and care coordination.
  • Must adhere to HIPAA regulations.

Job Purpose

The Registered Dietitian promotes the nutritional well-being of AHN clients by providing medical nutrition therapy, nutrition assessments, individualized nutrition plans, and health education services. The ideal candidate has experience providing nutrition counseling, identifying and mitigating health risk factors, and developing effective nutrition care plans. This position may require seeing clients in community, clinic, and hospital settings as needed. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and be able to safely operate an AHN company vehicle as required.

Key Responsibilities
Client Assessment & Nutrition Counseling
  • Conduct nutrition assessments and evaluate client needs to develop individualized nutrition care plans and education strategies. Provide medical nutrition therapy, disease self-management education, and one-on-one counseling to support healthy lifestyle changes and improved health outcomes.
Documentation & Follow-Up
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and complete documentation of client interactions, assessments, care plans, and progress notes. Conduct ongoing follow-ups to monitor progress and update care plans as needed.
Advocacy & Care Coordination
  • Screen clients for appropriate health-related programs, services, and resources, and make referrals as needed. Serve as an advocate for clients by collaborating with treating physicians/providers, insurance companies, community partners, and support organizations to ensure coordinated care and access to necessary services and resources.
Database & Records Management
  • Maintain accurate client records and ensure all required documentation, assessments, screening tools, and reports are entered into the database system in a timely manner. Ensure records remain current and compliant with organizational standard
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Public Health, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Must be a current Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) in good standing; candidates with a provisional license will be considered.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
  • Minimum of one (1) year of professional experience as a Registered Dietitian preferred.
  • Experience providing nutrition counseling, education, and care coordination in a healthcare or community-based setting preferred.
  • Must adhere to HIPAA regulations.
Work Environment
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, and the employee usually works in a climate-controlled office environment
  • Ability to travel up to two times per week as required.
  • Ability to sit for 6 - 8 hours per day, including time spent at a computer workstation and/or operating a vehicle.
  • Ability to stand and walk for 3 - 6 hours per day.
  • Ability to perform repetitive hand and wrist movements, including keyboarding and data entry.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 30 pounds on a regular basis, with or without reasonable accommodation.
