Job summary

Cura Hospitality is seeking a Registered Dietitian to join our healthcare team at Leesport’s Berks Heim Nursing & Rehab. You will assess nutritional needs, identify interventions, and support residents in achieving optimal status and quality of life.

You will provide nutrition expertise to the care team, educate staff and residents, align with practice standards, and contribute to ongoing quality improvement initiatives in a supportive long-term care environment.

Qualifications

• CDR examination passed or eligible per Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
• Maintain 75 hours of continuing education every five years.
• Licensed or certified per state requirements.
• Knowledge of regulation standards for assessments and care planning.
• Ability to teach nutrition concepts to staff and patients.

Responsibilities

The Role at a glance:

We are looking to add an experienced registered dietitian to our healthcare team in Leesport. As a registered dietitian, you will have the opportunity to identify and assess the nutritional needs of assigned patients/residents, initiate interventions to achieve and/or maintain individuals nutritional status, and enhance quality of life consistent with patient’s/resident’s goals.

What you'll be doing:

• Providing nutritional expertise to the health care team and educating patients/residents, staff, or consultants.
• Following the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics’ standards of practice and facility regulatory requirements.
• Interacting with other departments in setting up procedures and policies, and in problem solving as it relates to dining service and nutrition.
• Actively participating in the development, review, and revision of continuous quality improvement programs.

What we're looking for:

Must-haves:

• Passed a national examination administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) or meets the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics requirements for eligibility.
• Completes 75 hours of continuing education hours every five years, in accordance with the CDR, utilizing the professional portfolio development process.
• Licensed or certified, per state requirements.
• Knowledge of regulation standards specific to comprehensive assessments, care planning, and residents’ rights.
• Ability to teach others, specifically pertaining to nutrition and dietetics.

Nice-to-haves:

• Bachelor’s degree in nutrition or related field.
• Experience working in healthcare or long-term care.
