Job summary

Apple Rehab is seeking a Registered Dietitian to deliver comprehensive nutritional care for residents in our Avon, CT area facility. You will ensure compliance with Food Service regulations, counsel Dietary Managers, Nursing, or Administrators as needed, and participate in weekly At Risk meetings while monitoring weights and nutrition intake.

Requirements include CD-N certification, long-term care clinical and production experience, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• CD-N certification required by the State of Connecticut.
• Clinical and production experience in long-term care.
• Knowledge of dietary practices, laws and regulations for long-term care.
• Strong oral and written communication.
• Must be self-motivated, flexible and a team player.
• Valid driver's license with vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nutritional care for residents.
• Ensure compliance with Food Service regulations and standards of practice.
• Counsel or direct Dietary Managers, Nursing, or Administrators as needed.
• Participate in weekly At Risk meetings and monitor weights and nutrition intake.
• Make recommendations regarding resident diets and supplementary needs.

Position: Registered Dietitian

Type: Full-Time, benefit eligible

Role Description: The Registered Dietitian provides comprehensive nutritional care for residents in the facility. Ensures compliance with Food Service regulations and standards of practice offering counsel and/or directive to Dietary Managers, Nursing, or Administrators as deemed necessary. The Registered Dietitian participates in weekly "At Risk" meetings, monitors resident weights and nutrition intake as well as makes recommendations regarding resident diets and supplementary needs.

Qualifications:

• Registered Dietitian with clinical and production experience in long term care setting.
• Certified by the State of Connecticut as a CD-N.
• Current knowledge of dietary practices, procedures, laws, regulations and guidelines as they apply to long term care.
• Effective communication skills; oral and written.
• Self-motivated and flexible.
• Must demonstrate cooperation; team player approach.
• Must demonstrate patience, tact, enthusiasm, positive attitude.
• Valid driver's license with vehicle.
