Job summary

Iris Nutrition Group (Formerly Allison Nutrition) in Tennessee seeks a registered dietitian nutritionist to provide compassionate nutrition counseling for clients with eating disorders. You will work within a weight-inclusive, non-diet framework, collaborating with therapists and physicians to coordinate care and support recovery.

The role is a 1099 independent contractor with a flexible hybrid schedule, focusing on compassionate, individualized care and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• RDN credential required.
• Tennessee licensure or eligibility for licensure.
• 1–2 years nutrition counseling experience preferred.
• MS or MPH preferred.
• Experience with eating disorders, HAES, and non-diet approaches.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, individualized nutrition counseling for clients with eating disorders and related concerns.
• Utilize a weight-inclusive, non-diet approach grounded in Intuitive Eating.
• Support clients in normalizing eating patterns and reducing anxiety around food.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary treatment team to coordinate care.
• Provide nutrition education and practical tools during recovery.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation; participate in team meetings.

Job description

• Provide compassionate, individualized nutrition counseling for clients with eating disorders, disordered eating, chronic dieting, and body image concerns.
• Utilize a weight-inclusive, non-diet approach grounded in Intuitive Eating principles and evidence-based eating disorder treatment.
• Support clients in normalizing eating patterns, improving food flexibility, reducing food rules and anxiety, and rebuilding trust with their bodies.
• Collaborate with therapists, physicians, psychiatrists, and other members of the client's treatment team to provide coordinated care.
• Provide nutrition education and practical tools while meeting clients where they are in their recovery process.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation.
• Participate in team meetings, case discussions, and ongoing professional development.

• Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential required.
• Tennessee licensure or eligibility for licensure.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of nutrition counseling experience preferred.
• MS or MPH preferred.
• Experience working with eating disorders, disordered eating, or chronic dieting strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of Intuitive Eating, Health at Every Size® (HAES®), weight-inclusive care, and non-diet approaches.
• Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary eating disorder treatment teams preferred.
• Strong counseling skills and ability to build trusting, therapeutic relationships with clients.
• Excellent communication, critical thinking, and relationship-building skills.
• Passion for compassionate, individualized care and helping clients build a more peaceful relationship with food and their bodies.
• Thrives working independently while also valuing collaboration and consultation with a team.
• Willingness to work as a 1099 independent contractor.
