Job summary

North Alabama Medical Center seeks a Registered Dietitian to provide clinical nutrition services to inpatients and outpatients. You will perform nutritional assessments, develop interventions, and educate patients, families, and staff to meet dietetic standards.

Qualifications

Job description

• Complete nutritional assessments and provide interventions using evidence-based practices for inpatient and outpatient care
• Educate patients, families, nursing, food service, and facility staff on nutritional needs
• Document patient assessments, nutritional goals, and interventions in the medical record
• Communicate with physicians and clinical staff regarding patients’ nutritional status
• Manage physician orders for therapeutic diets and supplements
• Attend patient rounds
• Maintain clinical nutrition policies to support regulatory compliance
• Guide patients, families, and facility staff on medical nutrition therapy
• Build relationships with physicians and nurses to support patient satisfaction and quality care
• Join and support the culinary team at North Alabama Medical Center

Requirements

Registered Dietitian with Commission of Dietetic Registration
Licensed dietitian as required per state regulations
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food and Nutrition or related field
Knowledge of regulatory standards
Computer experience with word processing, spreadsheets, and various software
Ability to interact with individuals of all backgrounds
Effective written, spoken, and non-verbal communication
Service-oriented mentality with a focus on exceeding expectations
Positive and professional demeanor
Self-motivated with the ability to effectively prioritize projects and needs
Willingness to provide support where needed to achieve outcomes
