Job summary

Sweetwater Care in Oroville, CA is seeking a Dietitian to plan, organize, and direct our Food Services Department, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local standards and delivering high‑quality nutritional services daily.

As Dietitian you will oversee policy reviews, corrective plans after surveys, and collaborate with QA to address deficiencies, while supervising sanitation, safety, and staff performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics from an accredited college.
• Minimum 1 year of hospital or related medical facility experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the Food Services Department.
• Review department policies, procedure manuals, job descriptions, etc., at least annually for revisions.
• Review and develop a plan of correction for any food service deficiencies noted during state/federal surveys and provide a written copy of such plan to the Administrator for approval.
• Assist the Quality Assessment and Assurance Committee in developing and implementing plans of action to correct any food service deficiencies.
• Perform regular inspections of dietary service areas for sanitation, order, safety, and proper performance of assigned duties.

Job description

The primary purpose of the job position is to plan, organize, develop and direct the overall operation of the Food Services Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our facility, and as may be directed by the Administrator, to assure that quality nutritional services are being provided on a daily basis and that the food services department is maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner.

As Dietitian, you are delegated the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary for carrying out your assigned duties. Additional duties to include:

• Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct our facility’s Food Services Department, its programs and activities.
• Review the department’s policies, procedure manuals, job descriptions, etc., at least annually for revisions. Make recommendations to the Administrator.
• Review and develop a plan of correction for any food service deficiencies noted during state/federal surveys and provide a written copy of such plan to the Administrator for his/her approval.
• Assist the Quality Assessment and Assurance Committee in developing and implementing plans of action to correct any food service deficiencies.
• Perform regular inspections of dietary service areas for sanitation, order, safety, and proper performance of assigned duties.

Education:

Must possess, as a minimum, a Bachelor’s Degree in Dietetics from an accredited college or university.

Experience:

Must have, as a minimum, 1 year(s) experience in a hospital, nursing care facility, or other related medical facility.
