a-teamdentalstaffing is seeking a California-licensed dental hygienist for our established General Practice. You will perform prophylaxis, radiography, and patient education in a supportive, stable team environment, with opportunities for professional growth.

The position requires an Associate’s degree in dental hygiene, CA license, CPR, and the ability to administer local anesthetics. You will collaborate with dentists and dental assistants to deliver high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited dental hygiene program.
  • Licensed dental hygienist in California.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Hepatitis B vaccination.
  • Ability to administer local anesthetic agents and operate x-ray equipment.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Using dental instruments to clean accretions, calcareous deposits, and stains from teeth and beneath margins of gums.
  • Examine lymph nodes and tissues for signs of disease during routine exams.
  • Record dental decay and disease for diagnosis and treatment by dentists.
  • Maintain dental equipment and x-ray machine.
  • Expose and develop x-ray film.
  • Promote preventative dental care and patient education.
  • Work with dentists and dental assistants to maintain hygiene program for patients.

DAY(S) and HOURS

1-2 Wednesdays a month 8:00AM-5:00PM

Responsibilities
  • Using dental instruments to clean accretions, calcareous deposits, and stains from teeth and beneath margins of gums.
  • Looking for indications of oral cancer by feeling lymph nodes under patient chins for signs of tenderness or swelling.
  • Noting and reviewing patient medical history.
  • Using probes to examine and locate periodontal recessed gums and other signs of gum disease.
  • Recording dental decay and disease for diagnosis and treatment by dentists.
  • Maintaining dental equipment and x-ray machine.
  • Feeling and visually examining gums for signs of disease, sores, and other dental health issues.
  • Exposing and developing x-ray film.
  • Sharpening and sterilizing dental instruments.
  • Promoting preventative dental care to improve patient oral health care.
  • Applying fluorides and other dental decay prevention agents.
  • Working with dentists and dental assistants.
  • Maintaining a dental hygiene program for patients.
