Overview

Position Summary

The Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) Supervisor will oversee duties in the dental clinic and office, providing direct supervision to the Lead RDA and Dental Assistants. The role involves patient contact, working under a dentist's supervision, collaborating with the Front Office Supervisor, and reporting to the Dental Clinic Manager. The supervisor will lead, train, and support the dental team.

Responsibilities
  1. Provide excellent customer service and guide back office staff.
  2. Manage personnel: hire, train, assign duties, and oversee schedules.
  3. Maintain effective communication within the dental team.
  4. Oversee daily workflow and ensure scheduling efficiency.
  5. Handle difficult customer situations and respond promptly to needs.
  6. Answer patient and staff questions about clinic operations.
  7. Ensure patient confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines.
  8. Support special projects and quality improvement initiatives.
  9. Perform equipment maintenance and educate staff on basic upkeep.
  10. Recognize and perform duties proactively, prioritize tasks.
  11. Delegate workloads fairly among staff.
  12. Perform regular dental assisting duties as per RDA job description.
  13. Ensure compliance with OSHA, Dental Board, and clinic policies.
  14. Motivate and inspire the back office team.
  15. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma/GED required.
  • X-ray license and current RDA license in CA.
  • Experience in multilingual/multicultural settings.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and professional.
  • Proficient with computer systems.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
  • Occasional lifting of 20-25 lbs.
  • Prolonged standing, stooping, reaching.
  • Pinch grip.

Compensation

Salary range: USD $76,960.00 to $83,200.00 per year.
