Job summary

Carefree Smiles Dentistry in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a detail‑oriented Dental Assistant to join our growing practice. You’ll assist the dentist, prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and take radiographs to support high‑quality patient care.

Eligible candidates hold an RDA or CDA license and demonstrate strong communication, organization, and teamwork. Eaglesoft experience is a plus; we emphasize infection control and patient comfort.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) license.
• Proven skills in placement and polishing of fillings and sealants.
• Strong knowledge of dental instruments, materials, and infection control.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for procedures and explain steps to ensure comfort.
• Assist the dentist during restorative, cosmetic, and surgical procedures.
• Sterilize instruments and prep treatment rooms before and after appointments.
• Take dental radiographs (X-rays) with diagnostic quality.
• Update patient records with treatments, appointments, and follow‑ups.
• Provide post‑treatment care instructions and oral hygiene guidance.

Pay

• $18 - $25 per hour

Salary based on Experience.

Shift & Schedule

• Monday to Friday

Work Hours:
Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts

Requirements

• License & Certification: Registered dental assistant / Certified dental assistant

What We’re Looking For

• Proficient in placing and polishing fillings
• Skilled in applying sealants and other restorative functions
• Strong knowledge of dental instruments and materials
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferences

• Highly organized with strong attention to detail
• Ability to multitask in a busy clinical setting
• Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated
• Experience with Eaglesoft (preferred)

Job Description

What You’ll Do

• Prepare patients for dental procedures by ensuring comfort and explaining what to expect during their visit.
• Assist the dentist during various dental procedures, including restorative, cosmetic, and surgical treatments.
• Sterilize dental instruments and prepare treatment rooms before and after patient appointments.
• Take dental radiographs (X-rays) as directed by the dentist and ensure all images are of diagnostic quality.
• Update patient records with information about treatments performed, procedures scheduled, and any concerns raised by patients.
• Provide patients with post-treatment care instructions and guidance on oral hygiene and preventive practices.
• Prepare and mix dental materials such as fillings, impressions, and bonding agents as needed for procedures.
• Manage appointment scheduling, patient communications, and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant work environment, adhering to all infection control protocols.
