Job summary

Mason Dental in Bay City, MI is hiring a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) to join Dr. Chelsea Mason's team. This is a full-time position offering a competitive $20-$28/hour and a steady Mon-Thu, 8-5 schedule.

You will split time between direct patient care and leading OSHA compliance, infection-control, and safety systems to keep the office inspection-ready. Prior EagleSoft experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Active Michigan Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) in good standing.
• Dental radiography certification.
• Current CPR / BLS certification.
• Solid knowledge of OSHA standards and dental infection-control protocols.
• Strong chairside and four-handed dentistry skills.

Responsibilities

• Split time between hand-on patient care and leading the office safety and compliance systems.
• Assist Dr. Mason during general and restorative procedures with smooth four-handed dentistry.
• Prepare and break down operatories between patients following infection-control protocols.
• Take and process digital dental radiographs.
• Perform expanded functions under Michigan RDA scope.
• Lead OSHA compliance, training, documentation, and safety procedures.

What You'll Do

As our RDA, you will split your time between hand-on patient and leading the systems that keep our office safe and compliant.

Chairside & clinical support

• Assist Dr. Mason during general and restorative procedures with smooth four-handed dentistry
• Prepare and break down operatories between patients, following strict infection-control protocols
• Take and process digital dental radiographs (digital X-rays)
• Perform expanded functions allowed under your Michigan RDA registration
• Use of digital scanner
• Fabricate temporary crowns and bridges
• Take traditional impressions if necessary, and prepare materials as needed.
• Provide post-operative instructions and answer patient questions with warmth and patience
• Help patients feel comfortable and informed, especially those who are nervous about dental care
• Maintain accurate charting in our practice-management software (Eaglesoft experience is a plus)
• Manage instrument sterilization and run, monitor, and log sterilization cycles

OSHA & compliance lead

• Serving as the practice's point person for OSHA compliance
• Leading and documenting bloodborne pathogens and hazard communication training for the team
• Maintaining and updating the exposure control plan and OSHA documentation
• Keeping Safety Data Sheets (SDS) current and accessible
• Oversee infection control and sterilization monitoring, including spore (biological) testing logs
• Manage PPE inventory and keep us audit-and inspection-ready year round
• Help onboard and train new team members on safety procedures

What We’re Looking For

Required

• Active Michigan Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) registration in good standing
• Dental radiography certification
• Current CPR / BLS certification

• Dependable, organized, detail-oriented
• A warm, professional manner with patients and teammates

Nice to have

• Experience with Eaglesoft practice-management software
• Prior experience leading or supporting OSHA / compliance experience in a dental setting
• Expanded-functions experience under Michigan RDA scope
• Comfort with digital X-ray and intraoral imaging systems
