Job summary

Cummins Dental Group in downtown Silver Spring seeks a dependable Dental Assistant to join our private practice. You will provide chairside support, prep rooms, and manage instruments while delivering compassionate patient care.

Ideal candidates have MD-RDHT certification, experience with digital radiography and iTero scanning, and a strong focus on infection control. Growth opportunities exist within a collaborative team and modern dental technology.

Qualifications

• Maryland Dental Radiation Technologist certification required
• Previous dental assisting experience preferred
• Experience with digital radiography and dental practice technology
• Experience with iTero scanning, Invisalign, orthodontic records a strong plus
• Strong infection control and sterilization knowledge
• Excellent communication, organization, and patient-care skills

Responsibilities

• Provide chairside assistance during dental procedures
• Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, materials, and equipment
• Take high-quality digital radiographs and intraoral photographs
• Perform iTero scanning
• Maintain excellent infection control, sterilization, and OSHA standards
• Anticipate the doctors needs to support efficient patient care
• Educate patients and reinforce post-operative and home-care instructions
• Maintain complete clinical documentation
• Monitor supplies and assist with inventory management
• Keep treatment rooms clean, organized, and stocked throughout the day
• Assist with laboratory cases and communication as needed
• Provide a warm, reassuring experience for patients
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to maintain patient flow
• Participate in training and continuing education
