Olympic View Dental is seeking a dedicated Dental Assistant to join our practice. You will assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, prepare instruments, take X-rays, and manage patient flow while ensuring HIPAA compliance and a welcoming patient experience.

The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and teamwork. Familiarity with Dentrix and Dexis, plus experience with 3D scanning is a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience in dental assisting or related field preferred.
• Expanded duties such as temporaries, packing cord, and taking impressions are a plus.
• Familiarity with dental terminology and HIPAA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring instruments/materials are prepared.
• Take dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed.
• Record and update patient information with medical history and vital signs per HIPAA.
• Maintain operatory cleanliness and sterilization of equipment.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Manage appointment scheduling and patient flow; greet as receptionist when needed.
• Utilize Dentrix and Dexis for patient management.
• Support the dentist with 3D scanning technology when applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are prepared and available.
• Take dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed.
• Record and update patient information, including medical history and vital signs, in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dental operatory, ensuring all equipment is sterilized and ready for use.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions.
• Manage appointment scheduling and patient flow within the office, including acting as a dental receptionist when required.
• Utilize dental systems effectively, including experience with Dentrix and Dexis for patient management.
• Support the dentist with 3D scanning technology when applicable, enhancing treatment planning and patient outcomes.

Experience

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Previous experience in dental assisting or a related field is preferred.
• Expanded duties preferred (making temporaries, packing cord, taking impressions)
• Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to dentistry.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure compliance with safety protocols and patient care standards.
