Job summary

Avalon Dental in San Carlos, CA seeks a dedicated Dental Assistant or Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) for a full-time role in a brand-new, state-of-the-art facility. You will support the dentist with chairside procedures and digital workflows, including iTero impressions and digital X-rays.

Qualifications include a California X-ray license, current CPR, and 2+ years of chairside experience; Dentrix Ascend and 3D printing experience are a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of chairside dental assisting experience.
• California X-ray license and current CPR certification.
• Experience with Dentrix Ascend and iTero is a plus.
• Demonstrated teamwork, reliability, and professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Perform all aspects of chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry to support the dentist.
• Utilize iTero for digital impressions and take high-quality digital X-rays.
• Conduct coronal polishing and fabricate temporary crowns, nightguards and retainers.
• Operate 3D printers for dental models and other in-office fabrications.
• Maintain sterilization and inventory, ensuring a clean, organized operatory.

Pay

• $30 - $38 per hour
• Competitive salary based on qualifications and experience.

Shift & Schedule

Monday through Thursday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Requirements

• License & Certification: Cardiopulmonary resuscitation, Basic life support, X-ray / Radiography Certification
• Minimum of 2 years of chairside dental assisting experience.
• Valid California X-ray license.
• Current CPR certification.
• Dependable, punctual, and professional demeanor.
• Strong work ethic and a collaborative team player mindset.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and techniques.

Preferences

• License & Certification: Registered dental assistant / Certified dental assistant
• Valid Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) license in California.
• Experience with Dentrix Ascend dental software.
• Familiarity with 3D scanning and printing processes in a dental setting.
• Experience with advanced sterilization equipment (e.g., Hydrim, instrument cassettes).

Job Description

• Utilize advanced scanning technology, including iTero, for digital impressions.
• Take high-quality digital X-rays, ensuring patient safety and diagnostic accuracy.
• Conduct coronal polishing as permitted by certification.
• Fabricate temporary crowns, nightguards (NG), bleaching trays, and retainers.
• Operate 3D printers for dental models and other in-office fabrications.
• Manage and maintain dental supplies, including ordering and inventory.
• Prepare and break down operatories, ensuring a sterile and organized environment.
• Execute all aspects of sterilization, utilizing state-of-the-art equipment such as Hydrim and instrument cassettes, adhering to the highest infection control standards.
• Assist with patient care, ensuring comfort and clear communication throughout their visit.
