Job summary

Castro Valley Smiles Dentistry is hiring a lead dental assistant to train and coach the team, manage patient flow, and support clinical operations in a fast-paced practice.

You will develop the assistant team through learning plans, integrate specialty assistants, and ensure infection control, sterilization, and front-desk coordination meet CDC guidelines and the highest standards of patient care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; state-m mandated training courses (e.g. coronal polish, x-ray exposure)
• Associate degree or certificate in dental assisting or equivalent experience
• Ability to communicate effectively and present information to patients and coworkers
• Strong team-building to promote company culture and compliant operations
• Adherence to State/Federal regulations (OSHA, HIPAA, ADA, etc.)
• Ability to lead others and work as a team leader toward goals
• Maintain confidentiality of employee records and compensation information

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to/from the front desk

• Educate team on maintenance and ensure timely procedures

Job description

Responsibilities

• Train and coach all other dental assistants in order to ensure they can perform to their best ability
• Manage patient flow to maximize the experience for the patient as well as creating an efficient, effective day for the dentist
• Develop the dental assistant team through support of learning plans and expansion of individual knowledge with regards to clinical technology and skill sets
• Integrate specialty dental assistants into the team effectively
• Ensure patients are escorted to/from the front desk
• Manage infection control, sterilization and disinfection processes for all products, equipment, and patient rooms in accordance with the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines
• Maintain a clean and sterile workplace creating an atmosphere where your patients feel comfortable assist the doctors
• Maintain appropriate and adequate general and specialty clinical supply in the dental practice; while simultaneously remain fiscally responsible by adhering to the established budget
• Educate team on basic maintenance, as appropriate and ensure maintenance procedures are performed in a timely manner

Qualifications

• Equivalent to high school diploma or general education degree (GED), and specified training courses as mandated by state for certification, licensure, or registration as mandated by applicable state (e.g. coronal polish, x-ray exposure, s, pit and fissure sealant application, etc)
• Associate degree or one-year certificate from an accredited college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ability to communicate effectively and present information, both verbally and in writing, to patients and co-workers
• Effective team builder that can cultivate an environment and promote company culture
• Maintain strict compliance with State, Federal, and other regulations, (e.g., OSHA, State Dental Board, HIPAA, ADA, FEHA, DOL, HR policies and practices)
• Ability to direct the work of others and work as a team leader in attainment of goals
• Ability to handle and maintain extreme confidentially with employee records, compensation information, etc

Compensation Information

$26.25-$36.50 / Hourly
