Job summary

Amarillo Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics is seeking an experienced Registered Dental Assistant to join our team in Amarillo. You will support the dentist, ensure patient comfort, and uphold a welcoming, efficient office environment.

Responsibilities include greeting patients, preparing for appointments, sterilizing instruments, assisting with lab tasks, providing oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions, and keeping the treatment area clean and stocked.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as dental assistant (minimum of 2 years preferred).
• RDA active license required.
• Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods.
• Understanding of health & safety regulations.
• Open Dental and Dexis experience preferred.

Registered Dental Assistant (RDA)

Amarillo Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics

We are looking for an experienced, competent dental assistant who will make the dentist’s office more efficient and pleasant for patients. You’ll ensure excellent customer service and perform administrative and basic dental tasks. Dental assistants should be well-organized with great attention to detail. You should be able to follow instructions and respect dental office regulations. We want you to be skilled in providing direct or indirect patient care and able to make office procedures as smooth as possible.

• Prepare customers for dental appointments ensuring their comfort
• Sterilize instruments according to regulations
• Undertake lab tasks as instructed
• Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions

Skills

• Proven experience as dental assistant (minimum of 2 years preferred)

• Understanding of health & safety regulations
• Ability to perform regulated non-surgical tasks like coronal polishing and fit and fissure sealants (preferred)
• Excellent communication and people skills
• Well-organized and reliable
• RDA active license required
• Additional certification or training is an asset (e.g. CPR, HIPAA, OSHA, Human Trafficking, Nitrous Certification, etc.)
• Open Dental and Dexis experience (preferred)
