Job summary

Brookshire Brothers in Navasota, TX is seeking a Registered/Certified Pharmacy Technician FT to work under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. You will assist with filling prescriptions, data entry, stocking, and daily store operations in a busy retail pharmacy.

Responsibilities include validating NDC numbers, processing prescriptions within 48 hours, handling invoices, and maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with OBRA 1990.

Qualifications

• Must be a registered/certified pharmacy technician with the appropriate State Board of Pharmacy.
• Retail pharmacy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist with filling prescribed drugs, entering prescription data, operating the register for pharmacy sales, re-ordering medicine and supplies, stocking shelves, and all other duties as assigned.
• Validate the NDC number from the stock bottle with the NDC number of the file tag when processing prescriptions, file and sequence new prescriptions documents in proper classification within 48 hours of receipt.
• Process invoices, monitor and respond to all correspondence be it electronic or written, and assist in training personnel as dictated by pharmacy management.
• Ensure an atmosphere of confidentiality in regards to pharmacy records, customer records and all other aspects of the department, and fully comply with OBRA 1990.

A Registered Pharmacy Technician works under the direct supervision of a pharmacist to aid and assist in the delivery of pharmacy services to the public. In general, they may assist in performing, under the immediate supervision of licensed pharmacist, manipulative, non-discretionary functions associated with the practice of pharmacy. This position may also be a floater technician.

• Ensure an atmosphere of confidentiality in regards to pharmacy records, customer records and all other aspects of the department, and fully comply with OBRA 1990.
• Assist in various activities as directed by the general operation of the store as needed.

Education and/Or Experience

Must be a registered/certified pharmacy technician with the appropriate State Board of Pharmacy.
