Job summary

Step Ahead ABA currently seeks an Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) for statewide North Carolina placement. The role offers fast-track placement with first-choice case assignment and flexible scheduling within your availability.

You will be paid $23/hour billable and $10/hour for training/non-billable time, with progression via the RBT leveling system and BCBA supervision pathway.

Qualifications

• Active RBT certification with the BACB is required.
• Reliable transportation to travel for in-home, school, and community sites.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Ability to stay active and engaged in sessions with clients.

Responsibilities

• Provide ABA therapy to children and teens across North Carolina.
• Work under BCBA supervision with a defined treatment plan.
• Join the Fast Track Placement pool and coordinate case scheduling.
• Select and manage your own caseload within your availability.

Job Description

This posting is how you join Step Ahead ABA's Fast Track Placement pool for North Carolina. It is not one client case and it is not tied to one city — it covers the whole state, and it stays open all year.

PAY IN NORTH CAROLINA

• $23/hour billable
• $10/hour for non-billable time, which is training and required meetings — a small share of the week

You know both numbers before you accept a case, and the RBT Leveling System raises your rate at every level.

WHAT FAST TRACK PLACEMENT GETS YOU

Cases do not go public first. When a family is ready for an RBT, our placement team works Fast Track Placement before the case is posted to a job board. Being in the pool means:

• You hear about a case days before it is advertised anywhere
• You get first refusal on cases that match your area and your availability
• You are matched on the schedule you already told us you can work
• When several people could take a case, pool members are contacted first

New cases open every week.

HOW IT WORKS

You apply once and tell us two things: your ZIP code and when you can work. When a case opens that fits both, our placement team contacts you directly. You are never applying blind to a posting that has already been filled — we come to you.

Our current RBTs get first look at every new case. Fast Track Placement is next, ahead of public postings.
