Job summary

ABA Centers of Washington is seeking a part-time Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) or CBT to join our Tacoma/Auburn/Puyallup-based team. You will deliver ABA therapy in homes, schools, or clinics under BCBA supervision, with paid training and clear progression.

We offer mentorship toward BCBA, ongoing training, and sign-on bonuses based on certification. This role supports growth in a caring, data-driven environment across multiple WA locations.

Qualifications

• Active RBT certification through the BACB or CBT certification through the WA Department of Health
• ≥6 months of relevant experience (including internships or related roles)
• Availability during mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Reliable transportation with valid driver's license and insurance
• Ability to pass background checks, drug screening, and driving record review

Responsibilities

• Deliver ABA therapy in homes, schools, communities, clinics, or other venues depending on client needs
• Teach communication, social, and daily living skills
• Implement individualized treatment plans under BCBA supervision
• Track progress and maintain quality with accurate data collection
• Work closely with BCBAs, team members, and families
• Participate in team meetings and ongoing training

RBT: Starting rate of $34.00 per hour.

CBT: Starting rate of $32.00 per hour.

*Final compensation determined by experience, training, and education.

What You'll Do

Direct Client Support

• Deliver ABA therapy in homes, schools, communities, clinics, or other venues depending on client needs
• Teach communication, social, and daily living skills

Requirements

What We're Looking For

Required

• High school diploma or GED
• Active RBT certification through the BACB or CBT certification through the WA Department of Health
• 6+ months of relevant experience (including internships or related roles)
• Availability during mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Reliable transportation with valid driver's license and insurance
• Ability to pass background checks, drug screening, and driving record review

Preferred

• Experience in childcare, education, or related fields
• Experience working with children or adolescents
• Prior exposure to ABA services

Position-Specific Items

• Behavior Technician (BT): Complete a 40-hour paid training program over 2 consecutive weeks (at the same rate of pay), followed by precepting (hands-on supervision), and pass the RBT exam within 45 days (up to 3 weeks total)
• Registered Behavior Technician (RBT): Active certification in good standing; 1 week of paid training followed by precepting (hands-on supervision) (up to 2 weeks total)
• Training availability (BT / RBT): Must be available Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM

Eligible candidates may receive a sign-on bonus based on certification:

• RBT: $200
• CBT: $400
• RBT + CBT: $600

• Payment Schedule: 50% of the sign-on bonus will be paid after 90 days of employment, with the remaining 50% paid after 120 days.
• Repayment Requirement: The sign-on bonus must be repaid in full if employment ends within the first six months, subject to the terms and conditions of the sign-on bonus agreement.
