Job summary

ABA Centers of Connecticut is hiring for Behavior Technician (BT) and Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) roles across CT, including Stamford, Danbury, Bridgeport, Trumbull and New Milford. The starting hourly rates are $22.25 for BT and $24.60 for RBT, with final compensation determined by experience, training and education.

We offer paid training, mentorship, and a clear path for advancement. We support our team with an ABA Academy of Excellence to prepare for the RBT exam, and referral

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • 6+ months of relevant experience (including internships or related roles).
  • Availability during mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Reliable transportation with valid driver’s license and insurance.
  • Ability to pass background checks, drug screening, and driving record review.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver ABA therapy in homes, schools, communities, clinics, or other venues depending on client needs.
  • Teach communication, social, and daily living skills.
  • Implement individualized treatment plans under BCBA supervision.
  • Track progress and maintain quality by documenting session data.
  • Work closely with BCBAs, team members, and families; participate in meetings and ongoing training.
  • Assist with administrative and clinical support tasks as needed.

What You'll Do

Direct Client Support


  • Deliver ABA therapy in homes, schools, communities, clinics, or other venues depending on client needs

  • Teach communication, social, and daily living skills

  • Collect, organize, and document session data accurately

  • Work closely with BCBAs, team members, and families

Requirements

What We're Looking For


  • High school diploma or GED

  • 6+ months of relevant experience (including internships or related roles)

  • Availability during mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays

  • Reliable transportation with valid driver's license and insurance

  • Ability to pass background checks, drug screening, and driving record review


Preferred


  • Experience in childcare, education, or related fields

  • Experience working with children or adolescents

  • Prior exposure to ABA services


Position-Specific Items


  • Behavior Technician (BT): Complete a 40-hour paid training program over 2 consecutive weeks (at the same rate of pay), followed by precepting (hands-on supervision), and pass the RBT exam within 45 days (up to 3 weeks total)

  • Registered Behavior Technician (RBT): Active certification in good standing; 1 week of paid training followed by precepting (hands‑on supervision) (up to 2 weeks total)

  • Training availability (BT / RBT): Must be available Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM
