Job summary

ABA Centers of New Jersey is hiring for a full-time Autism ABA support role in Hackensack, NJ. The position offers on-site work with paid training and clear opportunities for career advancement through our ABA Academy and supervision pathways.

Starting pay is provided as hourly rates: BTs at $22.25/hr and RBTs at $24.60/hr, with final compensation based on experience, training, and credentials. We support your growth with mentorship and a structured ladder toward BCBA certification.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 6+ months of relevant experience within healthcare, education, or related fields.
  • Availability during afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Reliable transportation with valid driver's license and insurance.
  • Ability to pass background checks, drug screening, and driving record review.
  • NJ candidates: minimum age 21 with at least 1 year experience with children or in healthcare.

Responsibilities

  • Direct client support and delivery of ABA therapy in homes, schools, communities, or clinics.
  • Teach communication, social, and daily living skills under BCBA supervision.
  • Implement individualized treatment plans and track progress with accurate data.
  • Collaborate with BCBAs, team members, and families; participate in meetings and training.
  • Provide administrative and clinical support as needed to the team.
  • Maintain quality and documentation for sessions and outcomes.

Requirements
What We're Looking For
Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 6+ months of relevant experience (including internships or related roles)
  • Availability during afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Reliable transportation with valid driver's license and insurance
  • Ability to pass background checks, drug screening, and driving record review
  • NJ candidates must be at least 21 years of age and have a minimum of 1 year of experience working with children, in healthcare, or in a related field.
Position-Specific
  • Behavior Technician (BT): Complete a 40-hour paid training program over 2 consecutive weeks (at the same rate of pay), followed by precepting (hands-on supervision), and pass the RBT exam within 45 days (up to 3 weeks total)
  • Registered Behavior Technician (RBT): Active certification in good standing; 1 week of paid training followed by precepting (hands-on supervision) (up to 2 weeks total)
  • Training availability (BT / RBT): Must be available Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM
Preferred
  • Experience in childcare, education, or related fields
  • Experience working with children or adolescents
  • Prior exposure to ABA services
