Job summary

Mount St. Mary’s University is seeking a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to provide direct therapy under BCBA supervision at the Blue Peak Center for ABA in Emmitsburg, MD.

The role is full-time with a structured schedule and a strong emphasis on training, mentorship, and clinician wellbeing. Responsibilities include implementing treatment plans, data collection, and collaboration with the BCBA and team to tailor services for children with autism.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required, minimum 18 years old.
• Experience working with children preferred.
• Experience with individuals with development disabilities/behavior challenges preferred.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Reliable transportation to Emmitsburg center.
• Criminal background check required (state and federal).
• Active RBT certification preferred or able to obtain within 45–60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Acquire and maintain RBT certification.
• Implement written treatment plans as developed by the BCBA.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with clients.
• Work in 1:1 or small group settings with clients.
• Collect data related to client goals to inform treatment decisions.
• Submit regular written reports of client progress.

RBTs provide direct therapy, under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), to develop a child’s communication, social-emotional, and adaptive daily living skills. RBTs will engage in structured teaching sessions, collect data, and collaborate with the BCBA to identify the best course of treatment for the clients they work with. This position is fulltime and will work out of the Blue Peak Center for Applied Behavior Analysis at Mount St. Mary’s University. The Center is located in Emmitsburg, MD. Qualifications

• Must have at least a high school diploma and be at least 18-years-old. Some higher education in psychology, education, human services, or related field preferred, but not required.
• Experience working with children
• Experience with individuals with development disabilities and/or behavior challenges preferred
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Reliable transportation to and from our Emmitsburg center
• Pass a criminal background check from state and federal registries
• Active RBT certification preferred or ability to obtain RBT certification within 45-60 days of hire.

Schedule

Monday – Friday, 8-hour shift.

Hours of operation: 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM

Staff hours will be either 7:30 – 4:00 PM or 8:00 – 4:30 PM consistent daily and communicated in advance.

Work Location

At our center in Emmitsburg, MD. 2 miles from Mount St. Mary’s University towards downtown Emmitsburg.
