Alternatives, Inc. in South Bound Brook, NJ is seeking a full-time Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a behavioral group home.

The role focuses on daily living activities and implementing behavioral plans to improve residents' independence and quality of life. You will work across shifts in a 24-hour residence with opportunities for paid training, mileage reimbursement, and a weekend differential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Registered Behavior Technician certification (RBT) required.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• Ability to pass criminal/registry background checks and drug screen.
• Clear tuberculosis (TB) screening.
• Basic computer skills expected.

Responsibilities

• Assist adults with developmental disabilities in daily living activities in a residential group home.
• Implement individual behavioral plans and teach new skills.
• Support residents with activities of daily living including medication administration, meals, hygiene, and transportation to appointments.
• Document health and safety concerns and maintain accurate records.
• Follow shift schedules (days, evenings, weekends; 24-hour availability).

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A REGISTERED BEHAVIOR TECHNICIAN (RBT)

As a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), you begin each shift ready to help adults with developmental disabilities live their best lives as independently as possible. You have made it your mission to ensure the comfort and safety of each client. In our residential group home, you assist our residents with activities of daily living such as administering medication, cooking meals, performing personal hygiene, and transportation to medical appointments.

You also assist in the implementation of individual behavioral plans. Using effective teaching and mentoring techniques, you teach them new skills and help them achieve goals. Based on each individual's preferences and behavioral plans, you encourage their interests and drive them to community outings and recreational activities. You are happy to help them find greater access to the community. You are conscientious about reporting any concerns about their health and safety and keeping documentation accurate and up-to-date.

WORK SCHEDULE

We operate 24-hour residential group homes which means our Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) may have many shift options including mornings, afternoons, evenings, overnights, and weekends.
