SkyAbove Therapy is looking for a passionate and skilled RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) to join our supportive special education team for the 2025-2026 school year! Work collaboratively in a dynamic school environment, providing essential evaluation and therapy services to students from Early Childhood and Elementary. What You'll Do:
  • Conduct initial functional behavior assessments (FBA)
  • Review current FBAs annually
  • Write positive behavior intervention plan (PBIP) annually for students on caseload
  • Monitor effectiveness of PBIP
  • Develop data collection process for individual students and regularly create graphical data representations
  • Develop supports and implement reinforcement based individual and classroom management systems
  • Provide direct support to students using applied behavior analysis (ABA) methodologies
  • Assist in the development and implementation of IEPs
  • Provide technical assistance and professional development to school staff and parents
  • Utilize techniques for verbal de-escalation of aggressive behavior during a crisis utilizing Techniques for Effective Adolescent and Child Handling (TEACH)
  • Communicate and function effectively as a member of a classroom and school team (related service providers, paraprofessionals, teachers, administrators, parents)
  • Assist in the development of individual education plans (IEP)
  • Attend school district meetings when applicable and/or as requested by the department.
What You Bring:
  • Required Certification: Must hold and maintain an active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
  • Experience: A minimum of 6+ months of experience providing ABA therapy to children is strongly preferred. Direct experience working with students in a school, clinic, or home-based setting is a significant plus.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in implementing Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and skill acquisition programs as written by a supervising BCBA. Must have experience with accurate data collection methods (e.g., frequency, duration, ABC data).
  • Collaboration: A positive, collaborative attitude with the ability to work effectively as part of a student's IEP team alongside BCBAs, Exceptional Student Education (ESE) teachers, paraprofessionals, and parents.
  • Professionalism: Strong understanding of your role as an RBT, including the importance of maintaining professional boundaries, following the RBT ethics code, and communicating effectively with your supervisor.
  • Compliance: Ability to pass a Level 2 background check as required by the state of Florida for working in schools.
