Job summary

Burnett Therapeutic Services in San Rafael, CA, is seeking an in-home/clinic 1:1 Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to support children with autism and developmental delays. This part-time role offers sessions 2–3 hours long, with a schedule of 2–8pm, Monday through Sunday, tailored to fit your availability and age groups from toddlers to teens.

You will deliver individualized behavior support, implement plans by BCBA(s), collect progress data, and maintain open communication with families

Qualifications

• Must have 6 months experience working or volunteering with individuals with intellectual disabilities.
• Active RBT/ABAT/BCAT certification is required.
• Spanish-speaking is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• CPR & First Aid certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver one‑on‑one behavior support through structured activities.
• Implement behavior intervention plans designed by BCBA(s).
• Collect and record data on client progress accurately.
• Communicate with families to provide updates and support.
• Participate in ongoing training, team meetings, and supervision.

Job Type: PART-TIME

Schedule: Monday to Sunday, 2-8pm. Must have afternoon and evening availability.

Work Setting: In-home or In-clinic

Compensation: $24-$25 per hour

What You’ll Do

As an RBT at BTS, you’ll work 1:1 with children with autism or developmental delays to build communication, social, play, and daily living skills through structured, play‑based activities. Sessions take place in the child’s home, clinic, or school, lasting 2-3 hours. We tailor your caseload to fit your availability and match you with age groups you’re comfortable with, from toddlers to teens.

• Communicating regularly with families to provide updates and support

Qualifications

• Positive, enthusiastic attitude and a passion for working with children
• 6 months of experience working or volunteering with individuals with intellectual disabilities is a must.
• Candidates with an RBT, ABAT, or BCAT certification.
• Preferred: Current student or recent graduate in Psychology, Early Childhood Education, Sociology, Biology, or related field.
• Spanish‑speaking is a plus!
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively
• Reliability and a willingness to work with a variety of clients

Requirements

• Active RBT/ABAT/BCAT certification is required for this position.
• *(If you’re do not hold an ABA paraprofessional/BT certification or training, please apply to the Behavior Technician role)*
• If you do not have an RBT/ABAT/OR BCAT certification, you must complete a 40‑hour RBT training course prior to employment.
• Must maintain an active RBT/ABAT/BCAT as a requirement for continued employment.
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 18 years of age.
• This job requires reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and auto insurance.
• This job requires a CPR & First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain during onboarding)
• This job requires a TB test (within 90 days), MMR & Varicella Immunization, and a Pre‑employment Physical (within the past year).
• This job requires a background check (FBI & DOJ).
