Job summary

Illuminate is hiring a Behavior Technician to deliver in-home and community-based ABA therapy to children and adolescents with ASD. You will work with families alongside BCBAs and supervisors to implement behavior plans, track progress, and celebrate small wins in a supportive team environment.

The role requires an active RBT certification, a background in working with kids, and reliable afternoon availability. Travel to client homes is required, and personal transportation is needed.

Qualifications

  • Active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification.
  • Recent experience working with children and/or individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Must maintain open and flexible availability across multiple days and times, including afternoons.
  • Personal transportation to client homes.
  • Access to a smartphone with internet to record sessions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide in-home and community-based ABA therapy.
  • Track client progress during sessions.
  • Maintain strong communication with families and team.
  • Implement behavior support plans and ensure client safety.

Here’s What We’re Looking For

  • Active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification
  • Recent experience working with children and/or individuals with developmental disabilities
  • Must maintain open and flexible availability across multiple days and times throughout the week to support client scheduling needs, including daytime, after-school, and evening sessions as assigned.
  • You’ll need personal and reliable transportation & must be comfortable driving to client homes
  • Access and ability to use a smartphone or similar device with internet services capable of capturing client session data
  • MUST HAVE AFTERNOON AVAILABILITY

Position Requirements

  • Stay active throughout the day by sitting on the floor, kneeling, bending, crouching, standing, and frequently transitioning between floor and standing during therapy sessions.
  • Bring energy, patience, and professionalism while actively engaging with children, implementing behavior support plans, and ensuring client safety by responding calmly and appropriately to challenging behaviors.
  • Lift or assist children and equipment up to 50 lbs. (as required by assigned cases), complete documentation using electronic devices, and travel reliably between assigned client locations.

  • You have 6-months of recent experience as a Behavior Technician (BT), Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), Paraprofessional, Instructional Aide, Special Education Aide, Direct Support Professional (DSP), Caregiver, Respite Worker, Youth Coach, Preschool Teacher, Teacher's Assistant, Childcare Provider, Nanny, Babysitter, Camp Counselor, Tutor, Substitute Teacher, Behavioral Health Technician, Interventionist, Social Services Worker, Foster Care Worker, Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP), Autism Advocate, Mental Health Advocate, After-School Program Staff, Childcare Volunteer, or in a similar role supporting children and/or individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • You are currently pursuing or have completed college coursework or a degree in Psychology, Education, Special Education, Early Childhood Education, Human Development, Child Development, Sociology, Social Work, Behavioral Sciences, or a related field.
