Job summary

Imagine! is seeking a dedicated ABA therapist under clinical supervision to model and implement individual treatment plans for children and adults with developmental disabilities.

You will provide direct ABA therapy in homes and community settings, build rapport with clients and families, and report progress to supervising therapists. You will implement plans created by BCBAs, respond to challenging behaviors, collect progress data, and participate in team meetings and trainings to grow your ABA

Qualifications

  • Must certify as an RBT with BACB within 90 days of hire.
  • High School diploma or GED required; RBT certification required within 90 days.
  • Experience with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) therapy for clients at home, in the community, or other environments.
  • Build rapport with the client, their family, and staff or other care providers in different environments.
  • Implement Individual Treatment Plans developed by Behavior Therapists and/or BCBAs.
  • Respond to challenging behaviors with behavior intervention strategies and skill acquisition programs.
  • Collect data to monitor progress and effectiveness of the plan.
  • Provide regular written and verbal progress updates to the Behavior Therapist or BCBA.
  • Attend clinical or team meetings, staff meetings, and trainings to expand knowledge of ABA.
  • Attend supervisory meetings with a Behavior Therapist and BCBA; report progress and changes in functioning.
  • Collaborate with treatment team and family; maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
  • Requires use of a personal vehicle and regular travel to Front Range locations.

Job description

If not currently RBT certified, pay will start at 20.50 per hour and certification must be obtained within 90 days of start date. If currently an RBT, pay will start at $21.00 per hour.

Purpose of Position

Works under the clinical supervision and leadership of a Behavior Therapist and/or Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to model and implement Individual Treatment Plans with children and adults. This may occur in residential, community, or day program settings.

  • Provides direct Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) therapy for clients at home, in the community,or in other environments as needed.
  • Builds rapport with the client, their family, and staff or other care providers in different environments.
  • Implements Individual Treatment Plans developed by Behavior Therapists and/or BCBAs.
  • Responds appropriately to client’s challenging behaviors and implements behavior intervention strategies, skill acquisition programs, and program changes as directed by the Behavior Therapist or BCBA.
  • C ollectsdata in a timely and efficient manner to monitor the progress and effectiveness of the Individual Treatment Plan.
  • Provides regular written and verbal progress updates on treatment goals and proactively communicate any questions or concerns to the Behavior Therapist or BCBA.
  • Attends clinical or team meetings, staff meetings, and trainings to expand their knowledge on different behavior principles, strategies, and the field of ABA.
  • Attends regular supervisory meetings with a Behavior Therapist and BCBA.
  • Reports on client care and treatment as well as any changes in client level of functioning to the Behavior Therapist or BCBA.
  • Discuss significant behavioral incidents, or other issues that affect client’s behavioral status.
  • Acts as liaison between the client, family, staff, other care providers, and treatment team.
  • Reports client progress to the Behavior Therapist or BCBA.
  • Supports the Behavior Therapist or BCBA with training families, staff, or other care providers on implementing Individual Treatment Plans.
  • Communicates effectively with the Behavior Analyst regarding any issues, including service delivery, task assignment, etc.
  • Collaborates with other treatment professionals and the client’s family.
  • Maintains required documentation demonstrating services provided and adhere to all rules and regulations set forth by State and Federal Agencies and Imagine!.
  • Observes confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA standards in all aspects related to the client, family, and program.
  • Develops and maintains professional relationships with all customers of Imagine!.
  • This position requires the use of a personal vehicle with insurance that meets Imagine! standards.
  • This position requires regular use of a personal mobile device such as a smartphone or tablet.
Job Qualifications
Knowledge, Skill, and Ability
  • General knowledge of the developmental disabilities system in Colorado.
  • Basic knowledge of the principles and practice of Applied Behavior Analysis.
  • Demonstrated skill applying behavioral techniques and in working with children or adults with developmental disabilities/mental illness.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and prioritize tasks/goals for self and others.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with individuals and groups at all professional levels.
  • Exceptional teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to problem solve, demonstrate persistence and overcome obstacles or challenges.
  • Ability to work effectively with various technology including word processing software, internet-based databases, etc.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license and ability to meet Imagine! driving requirements.
Education and Experience
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Must be able to certify as an RBT with the BACB within 90-days of hire.
  • 12 months experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
Working Environment/Physical Activities
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Ability to perform appropriate physical restraints on clients.
  • Regular travel to various locations in the Front Range.
  • Effective with shifting roles, responsibilities, and expectations in a changing environment.
