Job summary

Three Rivers Treatment Center in Kenbridge, VA seeks a Registered Nurse to provide direct care for residents, supervise medication schedules, and coordinate with the multidisciplinary treatment team to ensure safety and quality care.

You will document in the electronic system, draw labs, perform weekly nursing assessments, assist with admissions, and support therapists with visits and passes, while upholding HIPAA and facility policies.

Qualifications

• Nursing Diploma is required.
• AS in Nursing or BSN preferred.
• Must be at least 19 years old.
• Minimum 6 months nursing experience preferred.
• RN license in good standing.
• CPR/First Aid certification.
• Facility’s approved Behavioral Management Program.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care for residents and supervise medication schedules.

Job description

The Registered Nurse understands and adheres to the standards of nursing. Provides direct care for residents and students. Serves actively and constructively as a member of the multi-disciplinary treatment team to determine and provide the best possible care. Ensures the safety and wellbeing of each resident / student. Supervises medication schedules and administers medications in accordance with established safety, Facility, and regulatory requirements with minimum medication errors. Ensures residents / students are provided with medical care as needed. Coordinates with staffing to including referrals for outside medical treatment as needed. Document resident’s information into electronic program system. Draw labs as ordered by the doctor. Notify the staff of the next employee that should be mandated for the shift. Chart Check, charting labs, daily nursing notes for each resident completed daily. Weekly Nursing Assessments obtained weekly. Nursing groups obtained twice a week on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Admission documentation completed within 24 hours. Work closely with the therapist for visitations and passes for the residents. Supervise staff to follow the daily program daily.

Conducts nursing assessments on residents and accurately documents outcomes of assessments. Attends to the medical complaints and concerns by residents / students in a timely and responsive manner. Observes all restraint episodes and provides a one-hour assessment. Ensures accurate completion of incident reports and notification of incidents to Administration.

Provides medication education to residents & their families as needed. Provides notification of incidents, medical concerns, medication changes to families & referral sources.

Maintains strict confidentiality and privacy of students' and residents' personally identifiable health information in accordance with HIPAA privacy rules and Facility policies. Meets mandatory staff development requirement per the standards of all regulatory and accrediting agencies.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONSNursing Diploma Required

Associate of Applied Science in Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing, preferred, not required

Must be at least 19 years of age per Commonwealth of Virginia Interdepartmental Regulation of Children’s Residential Facilities.

Experience: Minimum of 6 months experience preferred

Licenses/Certificates

Registered Nurse License by the Department of Health Professions in good standing.

Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)/ First Aid

Facility’s approved Behavioral Management Program

Valid Driver’s license
