Switch is seeking a Regional Water Systems Engineer to serve as the regional technical authority for water quality and system availability across data centers. You will execute water management strategy from construction to live operations, identify risks, and drive corrective actions to improve reliability and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with cooling water and water treatment in mission-critical environments.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% and work in field-based data centers.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical guidance for new data center construction, start-up, commissioning, submittal and RFI reviews, and QA/QC activities.
  • Guide site teams on water system design intent, water quality KPIs, operating risks, and corrective actions.
  • Oversee third-party water treatment vendors and ensure performance, testing, reporting, and service quality.
  • Monitor water chemistry performance across regional sites and raise deviations when needed.
  • Analyze water quality data and trends to identify risks to reliability, efficiency, and equipment life.
  • Diagnose and help resolve corrosion, scaling, biological growth, contamination, and related issues.
  • Support incident investigations and root cause analyses involving water chemistry.
  • Interpret vendor reports and guide corrective actions across sites.
  • Apply Switch water chemistry standards and reporting requirements consistently.
  • Improve water use efficiency, chemical treatment, and system reliability.
  • Share knowledge with site teams to strengthen water system expertise.
