The Regional Distribution & Member Support Manager is the key contact for all franchisee members within a designated region. This role is responsible for ensuring supply at best cost by managing distribution, proactively resolving and reporting supply chain issues, and supporting fresh bakery and all other supply chain activities for a designated region of a national Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) franchise system. The Manager provides high-level service and support to franchisee members and their teams, brand leadership, supply chain partners, and internal operational departments.
The primary responsibility for this role is relationship management between franchisee restaurant owners, assigned broadline distributors, and commercial bakeries. The Manager works in coordination with Local Distribution Committees (LDCs) to formulate strategies and methodologies to improve cost, quality, and service on behalf of the restaurants. Serving as a primary conduit for information flow between members, corporate supply chain teams, distributors, bakeries, and brand leadership, this role acts as the focal point of coordination and communication during operational disruptions and recovery.
Responsibilities
Relationship Management
- Build and maintain external relationships with franchisee members and their teams, LDC Chairs, distributors, bakeries, key suppliers, and brand field team representatives.
- Build and maintain internal relationships across key departments, including Food & Packaging Purchasing, Promotions & Inventory Management, Equipment & Facilities Purchasing, and Distribution & Logistics.
Supply Chain & Performance Management
- Manage assigned distributors’ service and performance to established standards. Create and maintain accurate monitoring of issues and resolution activities. Review key performance indicators (KPIs) on a regular basis.
- Conduct quarterly Distribution Center (DC) Scorecard reviews with distributors. Prepare and submit written summaries to executive leadership and provide updates during LDC meetings. Participate in distributor business reviews.
- Proactively review distributor holiday delivery schedules and re-routes for completeness, identify the need for gap orders, and ensure timely communication to franchisees.
- Proactively monitor distributor inventory of key items. Work with distributors and suppliers to resolve supply issues promptly.
- Collaborate with internal purchasing teams to resolve issues between distributors and suppliers regarding product damage, payments, late deliveries, excess fees, and operational friction.
- Assist internal teams in the communication and execution of all promotional programs. Support franchisee requests related to promotional activity and train members on order management tools.
- Assist in the sourcing, negotiation, and contracting of distribution services for members.
- Manage distributor transitions, including creating and maintaining timelines, facilitating meetings, communicating to stakeholders, and coordinating inventory disposition.
- Lead distributor service disruption coordination and recovery efforts alongside brand representatives. Manage distributor execution of product recalls, withdrawals, and resupply activities.
- Manage produce and bakery supply issues in coordination with purchasing teams, updating local committees on contract and supply changes.
- Support invoice audit responses and align with local committees regarding audit resolution.
- Review, approve, and communicate all updates to distributors’ case fees affected by base fee adjustments, fuel surcharges, etc.
Member Support
- Lead scheduled Local Distribution Committee meetings. Prepare agendas, presentations, and logistics with timely written recaps to executive leadership and respective members.
- Maintain member and field leadership contact lists. Plan and execute semi-annual restaurant visits or attend franchisee meetings to gather feedback and share supply chain updates.
- Assist members and their teams in the reporting and resolution of product quality issues.
- Address and resolve all member issues and requests in a timely manner.
- Track additional vendor charges (minimum order fees, restocking fees) and share findings with members to support restaurant profitability.
- Seek fairness in distributor management of member credit terms and communicate credit risks to executive leadership.
- Represent the supply chain organization at regional franchisee meetings and national conventions as needed.
Other
- Support affiliated supply chain entities and international divisions as directed by executive leadership.
- Support additional supply chain and operational initiatives as required.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced working knowledge of Excel and Word.
- Experience in Foodservice Distribution Management, Purchasing, Sales, and/or Operations is preferred.
