Job summary

Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton, SD seeks a Regional Manager of Spiritual Health to lead the transition to a standardized chaplaincy model across the region. This role includes leadership of Catholic chapels, sacristies, and coordinating Masses and sacraments, while recruiting and training ministers and arranging devotions in nursing homes.

Qualifications

• Clinical Pastoral Education prerequisites for chaplains.
• Licensure and clinical education requirements.
• Pastoral experience in healthcare settings preferred.
• Ecclesiastical endorsement is required.

Responsibilities

• Leads and directs the chaplaincy department across the region.
• Provides spiritual and emotional support to patients, residents and families.
• Oversees budget in line with hospital guidelines.
• Recruitment, training and supervision of chaplaincy staff.
• Coordinates Catholic chapels, sacristies and Mass scheduling.
• Ensures compliance with Ethical and Religious Directives.

Education

Clinical Pastoral Education - 4 Units - Association of Pastoral Education

Drivers License - Licensing Board

1-3 years pastoral experience in a healthcare institution

Good standing in the church, denomination and/or religious order through ecclesiastical endorsement
