Job summary

Syska Hennessy Group seeks an Associate Practice Area Director to lead and expand the Science & Technology practice in the West region. You will guide pursuit and delivery of pharmaceutical manufacturing, labs, semiconductors, and medical devices projects, while building client networks and shaping strategic plans.

You will report to the region and practice area leaders, manage a regional team, and drive revenue growth, with ownership opportunities in this management-owned firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering; exceptional candidates may substitute experience.
• 12+ years of Life Science design experience, 5+ years in consulting engineering or A/E firms.
• Minimum 5 years of management experience and 5+ years developing business for engineering.
• Thorough knowledge of MEP systems; PE registration is required.
• Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead pursuit, win and execute pharma, lab, semiconductor, and medical device projects.
• Direct regional science and technology team and develop business plans and pipelines.
• Expand client network: owners, architects, PM/CM firms, and general contractors.
• Forecast project pipeline, set winning strategies and teams.
• Ensure technical excellence in project delivery and resolve issues.
• Coordinate regional business plan with global plan and other geographies.
• Develop strategies to penetrate new clients for higher-margin work.
• Oversee project financials and client reporting; manage interoffice processes.
• Lead strategic recruitment and mentor senior staff.
