Purpose

The Regional Manager, Sports Medicine is a sales leadership role responsible for the Johnson and Johnson Sports portfolio: accountable for leading the overall management of sales strategies, activities, operations, and budgets associated with driving sales for the organization in the respective geographic area. As part of this diverse team with premier orthopaedic products, this candidate would lead sales activities that would result in customer and patient satisfaction while exceeding the sales goals and objectives.

You Will Be Responsible For
  • Demonstrate product and procedural knowledge; clinical and procedure excellence, product expertise and new product introduction experience.
  • Recruit, hire, and retain a diverse group of individuals within the region, ensuring that all territories are filled with the most qualified sales professionals.
  • Leverage available market data tools for customer targeting, business planning, and pipeline management.
  • Provide ongoing performance management, mentorship, and career development of sales team.
  • Assume a lead role in the territory in acquisition of new accounts and surgeon relationships while assisting consultants in penetrating existing accounts with new technologies.
  • Possess and demonstrate an understanding of the changing market dynamics in healthcare, industry trends, customer segmentation, customer data knowledge and buying process.
  • Lead a portfolio of products, responsible for sales, growth and income targets to improve gross profits, profitability, asset management, and budget management.
  • Handle business expenses in the region with fiscal responsibility and establish relationships with key surgeons, key accounts, and associations to identify potential opportunities and drive collaboration toward innovative solutions.
  • Diligently participate in compliance program activities and promote the highest standards of integrity, ethics, and compliance.
Qualifications / Requirements
  • BA/BS degree in Business, Marketing, Finance or equivalent; MBA preferred.
  • At least 8 years of relevant business and/or leadership experience, paired with a minimum of 2 years of management experience, coaching, or mentoring others.
  • Previous experience and track record of success in the Sports Medicine market preferred.
  • Participation in a Sales Leadership Development Program is preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability, including the ability to lead through change.
  • Excellent listening, written & oral communication skills and the ability to influence.
  • Strong customer understanding and the ability to use customer data to drive the buying process.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop field sales talent with a track record of success in a complex organizational environment.
  • Documented sales achievement(s) and business planning and project management experience required.
Other
  • Candidates must possess a valid driver's license issued in the United States.
  • Significant travel (30% - 50%) required.
  • Individuals must live in the current geography or be willing to relocate.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $132,000 to $211,600.
