Regional Sales Manager Pet Specialty – East Coast

Responsible for driving Optimeal's same-store sales and opening new designated key independent pet accounts across the Mid-Atlantic, Northeast, and New England regions. This is achieved through trade marketing tools, merchandising, and developing relationships with store management. The role involves close collaboration with the Country Manager and Brand Manager to grow brand awareness in stores, within the pet food community, and at events. We seek a high-energy individual, autonomous, proactive, and preferably with existing relationships and relevant experience in the independent pet channel.

Responsibilities:

  1. Brand Education: Conduct ongoing education for retail store staff via seminars, 'lunch and learns,' and other tools to promote Optimeal, including incentive programs.
  2. Store Merchandising: Visit key independent pet stores regularly to ensure optimal product placement, assist with merchandising using POP kits, promote frequent buyer programs, and help manage inventory orders. Provide feedback on effective merchandising strategies.
  3. Store Events and Demos: Organize and execute educational events and product demonstrations to inform consumers about Optimeal and current promotions. Prepare reports on these activities.
  4. New Account Development: Introduce Optimeal to new pet specialty stores by building relationships with store management and sharing growth visions.
  5. Administrative Tasks: Complete required reports, schedule and document activities such as Lunch and Learns, demos, and retailer requests.

Key Requirements:

  • University degree in a business-related field
  • Minimum 5 years of sales experience in Pet Specialty
  • High energy and readiness to operate in a fast-paced environment
  • Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
