First Merchants Bank is seeking a Regional Sales Manager to lead the sales and service activities across regions. You will motivate and coach Market Leaders and banking center teams, develop tactical plans and monitor progress toward goals.

Responsibilities include expanding business development with branch staff, guiding marketing programs, managing staff performance, and ensuring effective succession planning. Travel is extensive within the region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in management, marketing, business or related field.
• Minimum of eight (8) years of sales management experience.
• S.A.F.E Act registration / NMLS required or pursued within 3 months of hire.
• Extensive travel required, daily travel to banking centers within region(s).

• Provide direction to marketing for development and implementation of marketing programs to support strategy execution.
• Oversee market leaders, including developing goals and objectives for staff and appraising performance.
• Assist with the evaluation and recommendation of plans for optimum location of banking center offices.
• Develop, coordinate, request and supervise ongoing training programs for Market Leaders and banking center staff on sales and management.
• Maintain succession planning for market leaders and banking center managers.
• Provide leadership and guidance on staffing and performance issues.
• Maintain open communication with staff through meetings and electronic communications.
• Review financial reports of banking center activities to analyze branch performance and trends.
• Lead and coach market leaders and managers on scorecard results.
• Manage internal team communications such as newsletters and campaign updates.
• In conjunction with leadership, develop sales and service strategy and incentive plans.

First Merchants Bank is seeking a Regional Sales Manager to join our team! This position will motivate, manage, coach and lead the sales and service activities for all regions. Provide leadership and guidance to Market Leaders and banking center management teams in reviewing goals and objectives, assessing progress to goals and making adjustments as necessary when banking centers are not achieving goals. Develop and implement banking center tactical plans, including routine reviews to assess progress to plans and any adjustments needed to help banking centers execute those plans.

As part of this role you will:

• Formulate and expand business development activities for the branch system through aggressive sales & marketing involving ongoing contact with existing and potential customers and with branch staff.
• Provide direction to marketing for development and implementation of marketing programs to support strategy execution.
• Oversee market leaders, including developing goals and objectives for staff and appraising performance, creating and maintaining a favorable work climate that serves to motivate all staff.
• Assist with the evaluation and recommendation of plans for optimum location of banking center offices.
• Develop, coordinate, request and supervise ongoing training programs for Market Leaders, Banking Center Managers, and banking center staff on sales, management, supervisory techniques, operations, etc.
• Maintain a plan for market leaders, operations manager and banking center managers succession planning.
• Provide leadership, motivation and advice to market leaders, operations manager, and banking center managers concerning staffing, performance and other employee issues.
• Maintain open communication to staff through regular meetings and electronic communications.
• Review financial reports of banking center activities to analyze individual branch performance and detect trends.
• Lead, coach, and assist market leaders and banking center managers in scorecard results.
• Manage internal team communications including newsletters, sales results and updates, and campaign development, goals and results.
• In conjunction with the leadership team develop sales and service strategy.
• In conjunction with the leadership team evaluate incentive plan and performance measures for appropriate adjustments and changes.

To be successful in this position, we require the following:

• Bachelor's degree in management, marketing, business or a related field.
• A minimum of eight (8) years of sales management experience.
• This position requires S.A.F.E Act registration at the time of employment through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS). Employees hired or transferring into this position will need to meet the qualification requirements within three (3) months of hire.
• Extensive travel required, must have the ability to travel daily to banking centers within assigned region(s).
