The Regional Sales Director role is critical to leading a team that executes a truly differentiated set of commercial insights to local customers and prospects within a given region.

Reporting into the Division Sales Leader, the Regional Sales Director will lead a team of sales individual contributors dedicated to the Western territory to grow business and maintain current accounts across the assigned region. This individual will also be responsible for managing distributor relationships within their sales territory in addition to empowering and motivating their team to achieve required financial, operational and people development objectives. This role is remote and will ideally be located on the West Coast.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leads, Inspires, Manages, and Coaches High-Performing Sales Team – Leverages consultative sales approach to drive growth; recruits, develops, motivates, and retains team of highly-skilled, results-oriented Territory Business managers/Territory Account managers; manages wide and deep sales pipeline; uses analytical skills to proactively find ways to increase team productivity; coaches team to make appropriate field and pricing decisions; provides price input and approvals; performance manages team as needed; manages compensation; works closely with Sales Operations, Training, Lead Generation, and Demand Generation teams to keep sales teams current on development needs and regularly exceeding customer expectations.
  • Demonstrates Market and Solution Knowledge – Understands and clearly articulates full suite of Sealed Air Solutions, products, campaigns and programs to leaders, teams and key customers; understands sector/industry needs and economic drivers and provides key strategic customer feedback and insights back to support partners to strengthen solution suite in marketplace. Promote penetration of innovations to differentiate Sealed Air as leader by adding value to our customers business and market sectors.
  • Drives Profitability Improvement – Works collaboratively with supporting functions to regularly review and improve regional account profitability and growth strategies to deliver top line revenue and profitable growth for the company; ability to make and influence critical decisions at the local and regional level.
  • Leads Sales Planning and Growth – Guides Territory Business Managers/Territory Account Managers to create sales, profitability and growth plans for their assigned territories which will identify how to drive profitable growth with existing and potential customers; utilizes sales data, market analysis, resources, and tools to identify greatest opportunities; holds teams accountable to meeting and exceeding growth plans.
  • Manages Administrative Duties – Ensures team leverages all tools to fullest extent and completes key administrative tasks such as pricing, CRM reporting, rebate and promotion coordination, customer relationship and activity reporting, budgeting, travel and expenses.
  • Participates in Corporate Programs – Actively executes corporate programs and campaigns, complies with professional quality standards, complies with corporate policies and procedures, and acts in a manner consistent with Sealed Air’s values and ethical standards.
The ideal candidate will have the following experience:

Results driven and works with a sense of urgency. Customer centric with an understanding of strategic priorities across Protective business. Strong leadership, communication and team management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate the team. Data driven decision maker with experience in sales forecasting, pipeline management and performance analysis.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or related fieldor brings equivalent experience to the table
  • Minimum of 5 years professional experience, preferably leading sales teams in a large organization
  • Ability to travel up to 70%
  • Ability to clearly articulate complex ideas in an easy-to-understand way

Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated ability to champion change/influence teams, motivate teams, and drive results in a complex organization
  • Experience within the packaging industry or an adjacent industry would be a plus
  • Extensive experience in leading and coaching sales teams and closing business
  • Experience with distribution model sales and direct to customer sales
  • Excellent relationship building skills
  • Superior communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Intellectually curious, analytical, strong attention to detail, self-motivated
  • Proficient with CRM systems, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
