MWH Constructors a global leader in heavy civil construction of water and wastewater facilities is currently seeking a Regional Quality Manager to support daily operations in the Pacific Northwest The Regional Quality Manager is responsible for developing and implementing our Quality Management System QMS and will be a steadfast advocate for continuous improvement to the QMS which further complement our overall growth and risk management strategies This position will be based in Portland OR or Seattle WA and supporting projects in Oregon and Washington
This position reports to the MWH Quality Director and to the specific site Project ManagerThis is a project field office based positionManage construction quality site personnel in the performance of day to day activities applicable to the Quality Management SystemAssist the project teams including sub contractors with the development and execution of the project site specific quality plansManage execute and coach on the USACE 3 phases of control systemEstablish and implement audit plan which includes monitoring and reporting on Key Performance Indicators KPIs for business groups and project teams designed to ensure continuous quality improvement Share lessons learned throughout the company to continuously improve and reduce reworkRegularly visit projects and help project teams identify and document key project quality challenges Manage inspection checks on quality of workmanship equipment and materials to ensure compliance with codes and specificationsEnsuring inspection compliance upon material receipt as well as proper storage of materials and equipment onsiteIncorporation of quality requirements such as hold points into work plansImplementing preparatory initial and follow up meetings with personnelImplement and support the use of ACC Autodesk Construction Cloud for project quality documentation and controlsTroubleshoot and provide input into solving with engineering project technical problems constructability issues Provides quality expertise and advice in the proactive resolution of compliance issues ie codes standards specifications and regulationsProvide job site coaching and guidance on quality reporting and assist with monitoring trends and re occurring quality issuesMaintain relationships with owners clients subcontractors design partners and stakeholders to support project partnering and issue resolution Coordinates initial project quality training and partnering effortsManage and mentor subcontractors quality control personnel as part of the extended project quality teamManage ownerclient expectations and perceptions of quality performanceProvide quality related input in project management planning PMP documents documentation setup and initial partnering effortsProvide quality related input for business development and proposal efforts including quality cost estimation and contractual risk managementLead the companys quality culture through promoting recognizing and rewarding positive quality
15 years of experience in the construction industry minimum of 3 years dedicated to quality program planning and implementationBachelors degree in engineering civil mechanical or electrical construction management or related degree An equivalent combination of experience skills and training may be substitutedAble to effectively communicate to project personnel and senior management the core values of quality management as an integral part of project deliveryPrior field experience related to drafting project specific quality plans and working with teams and owners on plan creation and implementationSelf starter with good documentation skillsMust be a proficient public speaker presenter and trainerAble to travel within the region 50 and nationally 10 as requiredProficient knowledge in various software including Microsoft Office Suite products Blue Beam Revu etcExperience and understanding of Quality and Lean principlesPrevious water and wastewater infrastructure experience
ISO Auditor training and certificationConversant with ISO 9001 standard and administrative operational systems and management controlsCurrent technical certificationsaccreditations in inspectionNDEcode activities at the highest level
Anticipated budget salary for this role is 180000 220000 per year based on experience
