Job summary

The Wisconsin State Public Defender's Office seeks a full-time Assistant State Public Defender Regional Attorney Manager (ASPD-RAM) for the Racine Region. This role combines legal leadership with regional management, overseeing staff and coordinating with other offices to ensure high-quality indigent defense.

The RAM will carry a partial caseload, supervise attorneys, participate in statewide management activities, and communicate with external actors.

Qualifications

• Excellent legal research and writing skills.
• Complex defense litigation experience including trial prep, motions, and brief writing.
• Supervisory experience leading attorneys and staff.

Responsibilities

• Carry a partial caseload and supervise staff attorneys.
• Represent the agency on statewide and external committees.
• Travel up to 25% to other offices within the region.
