Job summary

UFP Industries in Bartow, FL seeks an internal CI consultant to drive productivity gains, capital project installations, and safety and ergonomic improvements through process design, layout, and machinery specs. The role may require up to 75% travel.

Responsibilities include leading Lean initiatives, coaching staff, auditing compliance, and sharing key learnings across sites to reduce waste and improve manufacturing performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent required or preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing operations and Lean principles.
  • Experience with 5S, Kanban, standardized work, and value stream mapping.
  • 3–5 years in related areas and familiarity with UFP's org and products.
  • Proficient in English reading/writing/speaking; strong analytical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage capital projects installation and follow up as required.
  • Identify opportunities for productivity and safety improvements.
  • Troubleshoot plant productivity issues and coordinate CI training.
  • Maintain knowledge of machinery and equipment for applications.
  • Conduct safety audits and start-up checklists for new installations.
  • Evaluate processes using waste walks, VSM, 5S, setup reduction, TPM.
  • Lead cross-site CI activities and share learning and successes.
