Job summary

Delta Dental is seeking a Regional Legislative & Policy Advocate who will reside in one of the required states (LA, AL, TX, FL, MS, GA) and lead advocacy with state legislatures and regulators. You will build relationships with dental associations, industry groups, and business associations to execute Delta Dental’s strategic policy goals.

The role includes developing state-by-state advocacy plans, supervising in-state lobbyists, and representing Delta Dental at policy conferences and events.

Qualifications

• Residence in LA, AL, TX, FL, MS, or GA required.
• 4+ years related experience in legal affairs, government affairs or public policy.
• Legal research and analysis skills.
• Knowledge of the legislative process.

Responsibilities

• Monitor health insurance legislative activity and identify advocacy opportunities.
• Execute region-specific plans to advance enterprise interests and sales objectives.
• Coordinate with in-state lobbyists and draft lobbying plans at local/state levels.
• Oversee lobbyists and provide performance feedback to management.
• Engage in grassroots activities and policy advocacy testimony.
