Overview

Black & Veatch has an exciting opportunity for a Water Resources position focused on stormwater planning and design, asset management, water quality, and integrated planning. The role will drive the growth and development of our water resources practice, with a primary focus on Minnesota and opportunities to expand across the upper Midwest and the United States as appropriate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the execution of water resources projects including stormwater improvements, green infrastructure, flood mitigation, erosion and sediment control, regulatory compliance, and permitting.
  • Provide business development leadership to identify and capture services and build client relationships throughout the target geography.
  • Act as Project Manager for the services listed above.
  • Interface with innovative partners to leverage new technologies and approaches for clients.
  • Provide technical mentorship and support development of the larger Planning business, including watersupply, water and wastewater masterplan, asset management, and condition assessment opportunities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 11+ years of water resources planning and design experience.
  • Experience developing and executing water resource planning and design projects.
  • Proficiency with some or all of the following applications and models:
    • HEC‑RAS
    • HEC‑HMS
    • EPA/XP‑SWMM
    • InfoWorks
    • EFDC
    • CFD
    • ArcGIS
    • Cityworks, Lucity, or other Asset Management/CMMS systems
  • Experience with regulatory requirements and procedures.
  • Drive client‑facing/business development effort.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program.
  • Minimum of 11 years related work experience.
Certifications
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.)
Work Environment / Physical Demands

Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based upon manager discretion, job performance and work assignments.

Compensation

Annual compensation range (Minnesota): $142,086 – $237,279.
