Job summary

Sentara Health is seeking a Regional Physician Advisor to influence care delivery, support physician engagement, and drive quality, compliance, and operational excellence across Sentara facilities. This on-site role partners with hospital and medical staff leadership to align revenue cycle processes with clinical documentation and coding accuracy.

The ideal candidate has an MD or DO, residency completed, board certification, and at least 5 years of clinical experience with UR/denials experience

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Completion of an accredited residency program.
• Board certification in specialty at time of hire.
• 5+ years of clinical experience; UR/denials experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support Utilization Review and Denials/Appeals to ensure appropriate level of care.
• Interface with hospital and medical staff leadership to align Revenue Cycle and clinical processes.
• Educate medical staff on documentation, coding, and site of service decisions.
• Present information effectively to leadership; manage priorities with strong organizational skills.
