Job summary

Sentara Health is seeking a Regional Physician Advisor to influence patient outcomes and drive quality, compliance, and operational excellence across facilities. This on-site role partners with physicians and leaders to support Revenue Cycle processes and documentation integrity.

The ideal candidate has an MD/DO, active VA license, 5+ years of clinical experience, and physician advisory experience. The position offers standard business hours in Norfolk, VA.

Qualifications

• Medical degree from an accredited school, board certified in specialty at hire.
• Residency completed and active Virginia medical license required.
• Minimum 5 years of clinical experience; physician advisory experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of CMS regulations for UR and site of service.

Responsibilities

• Support Utilization Review and Denials/Appeals to ensure appropriate care levels.
• Collaborate with hospital leadership and Revenue Cycle to improve processes.
• Educate medical staff and ensure documentation integrity and coding accuracy.
• Promote clinical quality, compliance, and operational excellence on-site.
