Job summary

Mercy Housing in Chicago invites a donor relations professional to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward prospective donors across corporate, foundation, government, faith-based, and individual giving channels. You will expand Mercy Housing's fundraising program in the Lakefront region through research, writing, and grant proposals and reports, plus targeted appeals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of five (5) years in general fundraising, grant writing, prospect research, individual giving, grant reporting, donor stewardship, communications, or related field.
• Experience supervising staff.

Responsibilities

• Research, establish and nurture relationships with donors from a range of funding sources.
• Facilitate and support involvement of leadership in the cultivation process.
• Represent the Lakefront region at events and professional organizations relevant to our mission.
• Write high-quality grant proposals, letters of inquiry, RFPs, and case for support documents.
• Ensure funder reporting requirements are met, including tracking expenses and outcomes.
• Plan and coordinate fundraising events with staff support and vendor coordination.
• Coordinate funder-related and community volunteer events in the region.
