Job summary

Altom Transport, Inc. is seeking dedicated Over The Road CDL A Regional Tanker Drivers to transport liquid bulk nationwide.

Expect extended on-the-road periods (5+ days) with flexible home time based on operations and driver preferences, offering high revenue potential and safety-focused service. You will haul chemical and petroleum products in tank trailers, maintain the equipment, and handle loading/unloading according to procedures, while ensuring compliance with Hazmat and DOT regulations.

Qualifications

• CDL Class A license required or equivalent.
• Hazmat endorsement preferred (must obtain within 90 days of hire; assistance available)
• TWIC card preferred (or must obtain after hire)
• Minimum 1 year verifiable tanker driving experience
• At least 23 years old
• Clean MVR and strong safety record
• Able to pass DOT physical, drug screen, and background check
• Willing to work flexible schedules, including 24/7 operations if needed

Responsibilities

• Safe transportation of chemical and petroleum products using tank trailers while complying with DOT regulations.
• Equipment maintenance: keep truck in top condition for long-haul runs.
• Loading and unloading per ISO/Flexi-Bags or tanker procedures at loading/delivery points.
• Maintain accurate logs, submit paperwork, and follow Hazmat regulations.
• Represent Altom Transport professionally at customer locations.
• Manage fuel purchases, trip planning, and scheduling to maximize revenue.
• Meet mileage or hour requirements to sustain steady workload.
• Availability to support 24/7 operations when required.

Job Description:

Altom Transport is seeking dedicated and professional Over The Road CDL A Regional Tanker Drivers to safely transport liquid bulk materials across the country. This role requires extended time on the road, typically 5+ consecutive days, with home time that can be planned based on operational needs and driver preferences. This position offers the flexibility to maximize earnings while ensuring the highest safety and service standards.

• Owner Operator Driver with Altom Transport, you are more than just a driver—you are a business owner and a critical partner in our operation. Your role includes:
• Safe Transportation: Hauling chemical and petroleum products using tank trailers while adhering to DOT regulations.
• Equipment Maintenance: Ensuring your truck meets all inspection standards and remains in top condition for long-haul success.
• Loading & Unloading: Following proper procedures for ISO/Flexi-Bag or Tanker operations at loading and delivery points.
• Compliance & Documentation: Maintaining accurate logs, submitting necessary paperwork, and adhering to Hazmat regulations.
• Customer Service: Representing Altom Transport professionally at all customer locations.
• Business Management: Managing fuel purchases, trip planning, and scheduling to maximize revenue.
• Maintain a steady workload by meeting mileage or hour requirements to contribute to the overall success of the operation.
• 24/7 Operation – Willingness to be available 24/7 when needed.

Qualifications:

Altom Transport maintains strict driver qualifications and a safety-first culture to ensure professional, compliant, and well-supported operations. Requirements and safety standards include:

• Late model equipment that meets Altom’s inspection standards
• Qualifications
• Valid CDL Class A License
• Hazmat Endorsement (H) – Preferred (must obtain within 90 days of hire; assistance available)
• TWIC Card – Preferred (or must obtain after hire)
• Minimum 1 year of verifiable tanker driving experience
• At least 23 years of age
• Clean MVR and strong safety record

• Dependable, safety-minded, and capable of working independently
• Willing to work flexible schedules, including 24/7 operations if needed

Strict Driver Vetting & Qualification Process Includes:

• Minimum of 2 years of verifiable tanker experience within the last 5 years
• No DUI/OWI on record within the last 5 years
• Cannot be prohibited in the FMCSA Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse
• No at-fault/preventable fatal or rollover accidents in the last 5 years
• No more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years
• No more than 2 CSA moving violations in the last 18 months
• No falsification on the driver application
• Must hold a current X endorsement
• Minimum 1-week in-person new hire training
• Quarterly mandatory safety meetings with employees
• HM 232 Compliance & Emergency Response Plan provided
• General Awareness testing in accordance with 49 CFR 172-part H
• Drug & Alcohol Policy and DOT Compliance program
• Forward-facing cameras on all Altom and contractor equipment
• Governed company equipment
• Incident & Accident Investigation Program (driver reporting + injury investigations)
• RCMS Certified / HSE policy
