Job summary

Lippert Components in Goshen, IN is seeking a dedicated, full-time delivery driver to transport finished windows to customers and support the production line when required. This role involves regional over-the-road travel, loading/unloading, and adhering to safety and delivery procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Observe safety rules and policies.
  • Prepare finished windows for transportation through stabilization and safety procedures.
  • Deliver finished windows to customers using approved routes and delivery areas.
  • Unload finished windows at destination through approved procedures.
  • Coordinate paperwork at departure, delivery, and return.
  • Receive and deliver miscellaneous goods as assigned.
  • Rotate to other production positions as needed; assist in repairs.

Summary/Objective

The driver is responsible for transporting finished windows to the customers and helping on the line when available.

Essential Functions

  2. Preparation of finished windows for transportation through appropriate stabilization and safety procedures.
  3. Delivery of finished windows to customer following approved delivery routes and specified delivery areas.
  4. Unloading of finished windows at appropriate destination through approved procedures.
  5. Coordination of necessary paperwork at the time of departure, at time of delivery, and at time of return.
  6. Receipt and delivery of miscellaneous goods as is necessary or assigned.
  7. Rotation of position into production team structure as necessary;
  8. Assistance in repair work as necessary.
  9. Maintenance of good housekeeping practices at all times.

  3. Must be able to read and process written communication including, but not limited to, work orders, and measurements;
  4. Must be able to meet production goals and time deadlines for company projects;

  6. Must demonstrate competency in transportation and over-the-road responsibilities;
  7. Must demonstrate welding competency and knowledge of systems;
  8. Must be able to rotate to other production positions as the need arises or as is deemed necessary;
  9. Must be able to operate a Lift Truck or Tractor as necessary;
  10. Must possess successful problem solving skills;
  11. Must be able to exhibit tact and diplomacy and maintain professional relationships with supervisors, fellow employees, customers, etc.;
  12. Must be able to work under physically and mentally stressful situations;
  13. Must be able to prioritize and easily adapt to changes through the day.
Qualifications

Lift Truck Operators License preferred (training available).

Commercial Drivers License CDL, Class A

Supervisory Responsibility

This role does not have any supervisory responsibility upon hiring.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling. The employee may have to lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. This position requires Personal Protective Equipment. Protective Equipment supplied by the company includes: Work Gloves, Safety Glasses and Ear Plugs. Employees may be required to provide additional Protective Equipment (Safety Shoes, etc.).

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position.

Travel

Over the road travel is expected throughout the US (Regional) and occasional local deliveries.
