Job summary

The State of Florida’s Department of Juvenile Justice seeks a Detention Services Supervisor for the North Region in Tallahassee. You will manage and supervise staff, provide training, and ensure operational effectiveness across detention facilities.

Responsibilities include program record management, PREA coordination, medical/mental health provider liaison, and regional quality improvement oversight. This role requires travel within the north region and strong supervisory and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Manages and provides operational oversight and supervision of staff at the regional office for Detention Services.
• Spends majority of time communicating with, motivating, training, and evaluating employees, planning and directing their work.
• Develops and implements record management program in line with rules and policies.
• Interviews personnel and conducts on-site observations to assess unit functions and resources.
• Acts as PREA point of contact for regional facilities and coordinates audits.
• Coords with medical/mental health providers and reviews service delivery; tracks provider coverage.
• Designs, evaluates and approves changes based on need and analysis.
• Facilitates regional training programs and coordinates with Staff Development & Training to meet requirements.
• Provides technical assistance and direction for program development and expansion in public agencies.
• Leads regional quality improvement via audits and corrective action plans.
• Gathers information, conducts studies, and recommends new systems or processes.
• Reviews contract monitoring reports and recommends actions or sanctions.
