Job summary

South Carolina Department of Corrections seeks a Regional Lead Mental Health Professional to supervise clinical staff and coordinate psychiatric services across multiple institutions. You will work with the Regional Manager and other staff to ensure appropriate coverage and continuity of care.

The role requires a master’s degree in a related field and professional licensure (LPC/LMSW/LISW/LMFT or higher) with state licensure eligibility within six months. Prior counseling experience is essential.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in clinical social work, counseling, or related degree.
• Two years of counseling experience.
• Licensed as LPC-A, LPC, LMSW, LISW or LMFT or higher.
• Comparable out-of-state licensure with eligibility for SC license within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Provide programmatic and clinical supervision of mental health staff.
• Coordinate and monitor institutional training; conduct audits and ensure documentation.
• Act as liaison between SCDC, other agencies, and external organizations.
• Ensure appropriate coverage and continuity of care in assigned institutions.
• Maintain on-call and institutional schedules; provide back-up as needed.
• Complete special projects as assigned.
