Job summary

Merck is seeking a Regional Medical Scientific Director for Cardiopulmonary & Pulmonary Hypertension in the South Central US. The successful candidate will reside within TN, AL, MS, LA, or KY, and engage with external scientific leaders, support ISP and trials, and advance scientific exchange.

Requires MD/PhD/PharmD or APP with proven leadership in cardiovascular/pulmonary areas; 3+ years in biotech/pharma or clinical research; strong communication and collaboration skills; travel and

Qualifications

• MD/PhD/PharmD or APP in Pulmonary Hypertension or related field.
• 3 years in biotech/pharma or healthcare environment.
• 3 years clinical and/or research in Cardiovascular & Pulmonary areas or 5 years Medical Science Liaison experience.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, networking and presentation skills.
• Knowledge of guidelines, FDA regulations and ethical standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop relationships with national, regional and clinical leaders to address scientific needs.
• Provide balanced, factual information about non-product areas and respond to questions.
• Support data generation activities including ISP and company-sponsored or investigator-initiated studies.
• Represent R&D at scientific meetings and contribute to debriefs and reports.
• Comply with GCP, SOPs and company policies; stay current in disease areas.
