Job summary

Horner & Shifrin is seeking a full-time Transportation Regional Manager for our O’Fallon, IL office. This role requires 10+ years of experience and oversight of projects, teams, and client relationships. Responsibilities include development of engineering solutions and delivering end products with budgets in mind.

Responsibilities also include interacting with clients, writing reports, pursuing business in the Illinois region, and field visits as needed. A B.S.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Civil Engineering is required.
  • Licensed PE in Illinois is preferred.
  • Experience leading transportation projects and client relations required.

Regional Manager (Transportation)

Horner & Shifrin is seeking a full-time Transportation Regional Manager for our O’Fallon, IL office. This position requires 10+ years of experience. This position is responsible for managing projects, leading project teams and team members, developing engineering solutions, and delivering a thorough and comprehensive end product. Additional responsibilities include interactions with clients, development of relationships, and tracking of potential projects.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
  • Interact and communicate with clients, vendors and staff of all levels
  • Ability to lead, manage and schedule staff to meet project needs
  • Track multiple projects simultaneously to keep jobs on schedule and under budget
  • Perform transportation engineering analyses and calculations
  • Prepare and write engineering and other reports
  • Coordinate and write responses to project solicitations
  • Maintain and develop strong client relationships
  • Develop business in the Illinois region
  • Field visits on rough terrain per project needs
  • Other duties as assigned
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Experience working directly with the Illinois Department of Transportation and local municipalities
  • Existing business development relationships
  • Licensed professional engineer in Illinois
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Experience using at least one CADD platform (MicroStation or AutoCAD)
  • Knowledge of at least one highway design package (OpenRoads, Geopak, or Civil3D)
  • Critical thinking and analysis
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
  • Must complete a background check
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

B.S. in Civil Engineering

SALARY RANGE:

Horner & Shifrin, Inc. offers a comprehensive total rewards package and is committed to fair, competitive, market-based compensation. The target salary range for this position is $115,000 to $190,000. Compensation for the successful candidate will consider the candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, and geographic location.
